Valerie looked after the kids from two families- five in total- last February half term during a weeks ski trip. She really was fantastic with the kids and nothing seemed to phase her at all! She was organised, professional and excellent with all the kids aged 5-10 years old. She played lots of games and kept them fully entertained. She took all 5 to and from ski lessons, equipped with picnic and snacks. She was truly wonderful and made the whole holiday a stress free, enjoyable holiday enjoyed by all. Valerie took amazing care of my three children. She arrived every day with a bag full of toys to keep them entertained whether on the slopes or in the apartment. Valerie was especially brilliant with my 6 year old who has downs syndrome, as well as sensory issues. He struggles with new situations and new people, but bonded amazingly well with Valerie and was delighted to see her each day. Valerie was proactive, professional and flexible, absolutely everything you could want in a childcare professional, cannot recommend them highly enough. We will definitely book with sun and snow again next year. The peace of mind and freedom to enjoy our ski holiday was invaluable.

Val was our ski nanny last year for a week in February with our 10 month old son.  We had never left our baby with anyone else before as I was still on maternity leave, so we were a little nervous about long days away from him. Before our arrival we exchanged emails on his likes/dislikes and routines and I felt reassured that Val knew what she was doing. In the event, she was everything we could have wished: punctual, friendly, helpful, communicative and full of good ideas to keep an active baby entertained both indoors and outside. The pictures she sent us of his first sled ride and snowballs were priceless! Moreover, we found her to be very professional and practical in her care. She kept us well informed on his eating and sleeping routines and when he developed a mild fever she did all the right things communicating with us, administering paracetamol and helping him to enjoy a cooling lukewarm bath until we were home. The fever came down and he was happily crawling around the chalet again before long! Her long experience as a childcare professional really stood out and we were very glad to have had her. We felt totally relaxed on the slopes knowing that our little boy was in good hands. We would re-employ her anytime.

I first encountered Emily in 2015 - back then I had never left my 8-month old with anyone other than close family and friends, and my anxiety was compounded by the fact that we were in a completely different country too. However, as soon as she walked through the door with a warm smile and cuddle for my son, I knew she was going to give excellent care and attention to my toddler.  Fast forward four years (and 1 more child to add to the mix) and I am familiar with the whole Sun and Snow team! I can happily report that Emily, Val, Jamie and Roxanne are a dream team - all totally professional and with the relevant expertise in child care, but also with a natural kindness and patience that the kids are immediately at ease with. They also manage to inject fun and games alongside all of the necessary 'routine' bits of the day. This winter, we relied on all of the ladies (we had other friends with kids staying with us) to help us out at the chalet with the children and also to bring the kids up to the mountain for lessons/lunches, etc. They took everything in their stride - from packing the various layers of clothing to organising snacks and planning the rest of the activities around the day. They also kept us fully informed and took pictures of their day so that we could keep in touch with what they had experienced. Sun and Snow Childcare come with my highest recommendation.

Both Emily and Valerie are fantastic nannies.  We used Emily one year for our three children who at the time were 4, 6 and 7 (boy, girl, boy).  The children loved Emily!  She is extremely easy to get on with and nothing phases her.  She bought along games that were appropriate for the children and they really enjoyed playing with her.  She was very flexible with fitting in with our needs and she really made our holiday relaxing which is not always the case on a ski holiday.  The following year, as Emily was unavailable, we used Valerie who nannied our three children (now aged 5, 7 and 8) and also my sister’s three children staying in a nearby apartment (aged 1, 3 and 5 - all boys).  No mean feat!  Valerie was extremely flexible fitting in with both the families, something I’m not sure everyone could cope with, and was very accommodating.  Once again, the children loved Val who was very patient with the children and came equipped with ideas and games to keep the children entertained when they were not skiing.   Both Emily and Valerie know the area well and if you are happy, will take the children on trips out. I’m delighted for them both that they are setting up a business together.  Both Emily and Valerie are great nannies and lovely people and I wish them every success.  If we are back in the area, we will certainly call on them again.

Valerie hit it off immediately with our girls (aged 2 and 4). She was engaging, friendly, enthusiastic and kept them entertained throughout both trips in which she took care of our girls for a week each time. She very obviously loves spending time with kids, has great experience and really understands them, and the little ones respond with affection and energy. They were always up to something - be it doing arts and craft making Christmas decorations or easter eggs, drawings and mosaics, taking them to various experiences in Samoens: train rides, market days, local bus rides to the playgrounds, or reading stories while getting them ready for their afternoon naps or some quiet time. Valerie also allowed us to enjoy as much of ski time as possible by coming up to the top of the hill to pick up our eldest daughter, and using that as a good time to take them sledding or playing in the snow. As someone with excellent local knowledge she also helped us out with ideas for which runs/areas were best to allow us to ski together as a family, nice places/shops/cafe's/hilltop restaurants to go to, and generally lots of helpful tips to make the time as enjoyable as possible.

We were lucky enough to have Valerie as our children’s Nanny while on our ski holiday in January 2018. It can be daunting leaving your most prize assets in the hands of others, but as soon as I met Valerie I knew she was trustworthy. Our children loved her - as did we. Valerie has a very calming and honest nature, she is keen to take the children outdoors and nothing is a hassle. She would send pictures of the children enjoying their day and this in turn allowed us to really enjoy our time on the slopes. Thanks to Valerie we all got the most from our ski trip and I would strongly recommend her as a nanny.

I booked a nanny from Sun & Snow childcare for 2 days over Easter 2018 for our 3 year old son. I was anxious as he hadn’t been left with a nanny before. I needn’t have worried, Val was brilliant. Our son took to her immediately and he had a fabulous couple of days, leaving us free to ski with our older children. Val is caring, organised and reliable and I would have no hesitation booking her or another nanny through Sun & Snow Childcare again.

Valerie looked after our boys over the busy Christmas and New Year period 2017, for 6 afternoons, picking them up from ski lessons or from our flat. She was kind, caring and importantly fun! The boys loved their craft activities, sledging and bus trips, and the occasional hot chocolate treat. Valerie also did some babysitting for us in the evenings and was super flexible and always punctual. She even came to say goodbye to the boys on our last day which was hugely appreciated by them. We are returning to Samoens this winter and hope very much she can look after the boys again as she is brilliant! Would highly recommend.

Valerie is an amazing nanny. I was extremely nervous about being separated from my 6 month old baby but Valerie handled it so well. She was quickly able to build a relationship with both of my children and catered activities to both of them really well. She spent lots of time outdoors with them and was extremely capable. Both the children really enjoyed spending time with her and we were so grateful to have her as part of our family for a couple of weeks.

We found Val via her website. She helped with the childcare for our 3yr old daughter and 1yr old son. We had a pool in our chalet which the children were able to enjoy with Val as well as going up to play in local parks and up on the mountain in the snow. Val was incredibly personable and the children adored her. She was also flexible with the hours needed and even offered evening hours as if needed. Would definitely recommend and would certainly use again.

Valerie took care of our 2 year old son from 9-2:30pm for six days. Valarie kept him happy and busy with lots of activities in and out of the chalet, including reading stories, playing at the park and bringing him up the cable car to sledge. Valarie was completely flexible with when and where to pick up from which was really helpful as we juggled two other siblings and ski school and best of all our son was happy. Fingers crossed Valarie has availability for our next holiday.
