About Valerie

Valerie has been taking care of children of all ages for over 20 years. She trained for 2 years to become a Nursery School Teacher and gained an ECEC qualification in childcare from Birth to 6 years. She has worked as a nanny in various locations around the world, looking after children of all ages.

She is certified in Paediatric First Aid, fully insured and also has an OCN certificate in Maternity Nursing.

Through her work she has looked after children from birth through to teenagers, though she specialises in working with babies and young children. Valerie is based in the lovely Giffre valley in France and is available for nannying in the Grand Massif mountains winter and summer. She is also available to travel as a holiday nanny.

Valerie says:

"I am very active and enjoy being outdoors with the children getting to know them, finding adventures and discovering the mountain or the village, but equally I like experimenting with crafts and paints and playing in the house if the weather is bad or the children need a rest."

"When I am not working as a nanny, I enjoy gardening, or backpacking to exciting new places, or visiting family back home in Zimbabwe."

"I first came to Samoens to visit over 14 years ago and have been coming here regularly since. I enjoyed it so much that this is now my sixth year living in the valley. I am here to keep your children happy, cared for and entertained so that you can all enjoy your skiing holiday at this wonderful resort.

Feedback

Valerie looked after the kids from two families- five in total- last February half term during a weeks ski trip. She really was fantastic with the kids and nothing seemed to phase her at all! She was organised, professional and excellent with all the kids aged 5-10 years old. She played lots of games and kept them fully entertained. She took all 5 to and from ski lessons, equipped with picnic and snacks. She was truly wonderful and made the whole holiday a stress free, enjoyable holiday enjoyed by all. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. Thanks a million!

Really pleased with the service provided by Valerie. Felt very comfortable leaving my toddler in her capable hands. Nothing was too much trouble and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time with Valerie. Would be happy to recommend.
